When planning a family vacation, state parks can offer an inexpensive and thrilling way to entertain the entire family. Some of the most beautiful state parks are located in the state of Alabama. Alabama State Parks pride themselves on the variety of wildlife and plant life as well as their attention to the preservation of the natural habitats needed by the parks inhabitants.
An Alabama State Park family vacation offers more than just a ride in the park. Alabama boasts beautiful weather for much of the summer season, providing the perfect environment for biking, hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, golf, tennis, trails and even alligator hunting. There are certainly more than enough outdoor activities for the young and the young at heart when visiting an Alabama State Park. When looking closely at each Alabama State Park, make sure to choose the one that is best for your families outdoor comfort level. Not all people like to vacation for days without a shower, so check out those shower and rooming facilities ahead of time.
All-in-all there are more than 20 state parks in the state of Alabama. These parks range in accommodations from camping grounds to hotels and motels on site. Some Alabama State Parks offer restaurants and others offer open pits for an outdoor barbecue. The choice is yours when picking from the many Alabama State Parks for your family vacation.

Buck’s Pocket State Park is a part of the Alabama State Park system. It is a great place to take the whole family camping, fishing, and hiking. There are numerous areas here where you can fish and there are a lot of trails where you can enjoy the serene beauty of Alabama’s natural landscape. There are five campsites located in Buck’s Pocket State Park and you can access free wireless internet at the park office or at any of the five campsites. The camp facilities operate from seven in the morning until sundown.
